Here is where we can share the hardwork and success one another has achieved.
I have always done a lot to try and stay in shape. I went through the many different stages of working out; going to the gym, personal trainers, workout videos, and though I saw the difference I never felt strong. I never felt the difference in my everyday life. Sure I could bench press and lift a heavy, do a decent weight for bicep curls, but where was it being shown? P90X was the last thing I did before joining and even that wasn’t exactly what I expected. It wasn’t until I joined here that I felt the difference, after the first WOD I was hooked. This has not only become a place to better myself, but a second home. The staff here has welcomed me with open arms and made me feel as if I was one of them, providing me confidence in myself. It takes time and dedication, but everything is able to be modified from the workouts to the diet plans, but you have to want it. The picture to the left is a small example of what you could achive if you follow what the staff has to offer. You may not think that is impressive, but for me it is a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!
At the beginning of 2012 I weighed in at a shameful 207 lbs. I was the heaviest I’d ever been and was fed up. I didn’t just need to diet, I didn’t just need to start walking, I needed to change my life. I’ve tried the global gym, I’ve tried fad diets. They don’t work. I was instantly impressed with the knowledge of the staff and their willingness to get to know me and what I was trying to accomplish with fitness. I felt weak in the beginning, not being able to do 1 pull-up or proper form push-up. I could barely jog without getting winded. The staff worked with me, tackling my weaknesses and turned me into a machine! Less than 5 months after I started training I completed a 5k obstacle race. I learned how to do pull-ups. I can now do up to 100 in a single workout session. I’m squatting 200lbs. I now run for fun! Oh, and did I mention that while getting stronger I’ve also managed to drop 4 dress sizes and shed over 50lbs. I’m a far cry from the weak, overweight mom that walked into that place months ago. I’m strong. I’m brave. I’m relentless. I fell in love with fitness. I have a new set of goals and with the amazing staff I simply know that there’s no stopping me now!
In sept 2013 I was very unfit, doing just a little cardio, which hasn’t done much for me, I haven’t seen or touch a barbel before, but 10 months ago, I made the best fitness decision of my life, I started to CrossFit, from burpees to KB swings, CrossFit has changed my life. I already lost 20 lbs. and my body has changed completely. I’ve shed blood, sweat and tears at the goal of a healthy body and mind. I’m not done with my transformation, but I’m proud of myself for making it this far. I’ve met people just like me who have motivated and inspired me to go the extra mile, or do the extra push-up. I’m absolutely happy and I owe thanks to my crossfit team. I am the strongest, healthiest and happiest I have ever been.The journey of 1000 miles begins with just one step and I began mine 10 months ago.
Mad Mike went from 305lb to 217lb all the while reversing his diabetes. He has been a loyal memeber of our box for two years and still pushes himself to be the best Mad Mike he can be.
